OS and version? JBW version? Java version? Snipe seconds? Which error exactly is stated in the context menu?

Please update to the latest Beta12-762 from

    next.jbidwatcher.com

    Sincerely,

    Therese

I updated to latest beta and its the same problem....I think jbidwatcher tries to log on ebay.co.uk not on ebay.de. OS: I tried both Windows and Linux same problem. Java-Version is Version 5.0 Update 16. The error Stated in the context menu was a ebay.co.uk page with cannot signin....

Here is another log-entry, whats that need redirect to ebay.de stuff?

Yes, I noticed the same, with a redirect to ebay.co.uk. I thought that ewas fixed in beta12?

    Greetings,

JBidwatcher has to use ebay.co.uk in order to parse items and place bids; it's unable to parse the page response from ebay.de directly.

@doleman If your first log file was done with 2.0beta11, that's one of the bugs that 2.0beta12 fixes. Your second log file shows nothing wrong. When you say 'its the same problem', did it fail to snipe (or bid), and return the same 'Failed to bid. 'Show Last Error' from context menu...' message, or are you going off the redirection through ebay.co.uk?

The redirection is normal and necessary for JBidwatcher to work; otherwise I have to build dozens of versions of JBidwatcher, and know the page contents of every country site eBay supports. I can't do that. Instead I focus on using English-language sites, and directing logins, bids and item views to those eBay sites that I can parse.

Well i cannot tell u sure if the bug is in beta 12. I didnt try to snipe something cause i dont wanna buy something right now. Is there another way to test sniping? Else i have to wait till i need something from ebay...But if u say that the redirection is normal then it should work, i got the error in beta11 with a ebay.co.uk page thats why i was confused about the redirection. I will let u know as soon as i have another ebay auction

    thanks

Ouuups, that's hard to read (one giant line), but if I got the important lines correctly out of it, it would look like this:

Tue Feb 10 21:57:22 CET 2009: Need to redirect to: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI....

Tue Feb 10 21:57:22 CET 2009: Getting the sign in cookie.

Tue Feb 10 21:57:23 CET 2009: Tue Feb 10 21:57:23 CET 2009: 370154567011 (Eumex 5500 PC 5500PC + Modem USB SMS CLIP + Garantie) - Failed to load post-bid data. 'Show Last Error' from context menu to see the failure page from the post-bid page. ...

If I understand that right than JBW tries to bid on eBay.de -- whicht of course must fail as JBW hasn't got the language input to do anything directly on ebay.de.

Morgan, correct me if I'm wrong. But if the above is true -- and at least there seem to be quite some instances where sniping fails especially for German users -- the US Paypal enforcement workaround could stand some more improvement. :(

    Sincerely,

    Therese

    Greetings,

What I need most of all is the actual log file. See the line:

Tue Feb 10 21:57:23 CET 2009: File contents logged with message: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?uiid=122397864&MfcISAPICommand=BinConfirm&item=370154567011&mid=&hmid=&Quantity=1&javascriptenabled=0&mode=1

    ?

That means that the actual contents that weren't recognized were stored in the log file. If you can find that log file, and use 'Attach a file' (at the bottom of this page) to upload it, I'd appreciate it a lot.

The key is that JBidwatcher isn't recognizing some response page, and I need to see that response page to have any idea what needs to be done.

AS you stated that's a 'Buy now!' where the final 'Go' screen looks a bit different from what you get when you place a bid or snipe.

Morgan has to tell us whether JBW covers that case of 'Buy now'. As they are in a fashion comparable to fixed price items (which can be listed, but not bought via JBW) I could imagine a 'No' or 'Not yet'.

I'd also like to mention that the described difficulty semmes to be another one than the sniping failures that are reported e.g. in tickets #642, #656, #661, #671. Chances are the latter four turn out to be representatives of the same problem -- and most probably different from the one described here.

    Sincerely,

    Therese

    • State changed from “open” to “resolved”

    Greetings,

JBidwatcher should definitely allow buying items. Unfortunately that's a case that I have real trouble testing, as whenever I list items on eBay for Buy It Now testing (even following their test auction guidelines to the letter!) they suspend me for shill bidding, and I have to go through their hoops to get reinstated. They always apologize, but...well, I need to be selling things on eBay right now, so I can't really afford to have that happen again. :(

I'll try to get it fixed after I release the next version. Open a new ticket for it if you want to monitor my progress on fixing BIN, as this ticket is no longer directly relevant.
