It is difficult to classify individuals in Brazil based on a racial perspective since there occurred intermarriages among most of the racial and ethnic groups who settled in the country. It is true to say that discrimination is not explicit in Brazil. However, it is clearly evident that individuals of light color have slightly higher income, social status and education (Marteleto, 2012).
