2.99pre5 uses 700% CPU after a while on OS X El Capitan 10.11.5

Reported by Woll Newall | September 23rd, 2016 @ 12:44 AM | in 2.1 Release

After a few days of leaving 2.99pre5 running it starts to use 700% CPU.

This has happened twice in 2 weeks of use.

The computer is set to never sleep, but overnight the display has slept, and when I go to 'wake' it in the morning it takes a long time for the login screen to appear, and then after logging on JBidWatcher is using over 700% CPU and running extremely slowly.

The whole computer runs slowly, JBidWatcher is still running but extremely slow. Menus appear minutes after clicking with mouse etc.

Nothing obvious in the system logs.

There were a few auctions in the list, and the JBidWatcher window has "Updating X..." in the bottom status bar.
