This is the second snipe in a roll that's said requirement not met. I can't find anything in the item description as to what it could possibly be. Do you have any idea?

Sellers may set requirements regarding their bidders - evaluation, not more than x items per week, no cautions due to unpaid articles, bidder has to register with seller prior to sniping -- or simply blocked bidder. This would be a matter of eBay and the seller, not of JBW. Did you check on all those? Did you mail the corresponding seller to find out what's going on?

    Sincerely,

    Therese

Also If you have no credit card on file or aren't registered with PAYPAL. These may also both stop you bidding.

I've also received this error, and displaying the more detailed error, find that it says that it is a paypal issue. I have an active paypal account, I thought that they are linked - as when I want to pay any won auctions, it automatically selects my correct paypal account. How do we verify that we have correctly registered our ebay ID with paypal?

Uuups - for Non-US users this may turn out to be a bid hard. As far as I know some sellers require a 'Paypal verified address'. E.g. in Germany I don't know of any possiblity maybe despite a credit card registered with and verified by Paypal to achieve such a status.

    Sincerely,

    Therese

I checked in ebay, I do indeed have a paypal address setup in my account settings - one would assume that is all you have to do. I am verified in both ebay as well as paypal. Would someone like to look at the data dump from the error?

    Strange enough ?:-|

You can upload the error log and Morgan will take a look at it. If you want others to see it, too, you will have to cite the relevant parts here.

Did you check what happens when you manually try a bid on an item where JBW fails directly within eBay?

You would instruct JBW to place a bid (not a snipe) with an amount e.g. just $1 above the current price. If JBW fails for some reason, you try the same manually directly in your browser. If that works, we know it's a JBW issue. Otherwise it still might be solely eBay.

    Sincerely,

    Therese

OK, tried the manual bid, it too wouldn't go through. However, when I did this, I was presented with an ebay error that stated this was the problem, as well as a link that stated that I already had a PayPal account. When I selected this, it then said it made the link. So, just because you set up the PayPal information in your seller information doesn't mean that ebay has linked the accounts. How strange. Thanks for the info Therese!

    Greetings,

You should make sure that you have the right info set up, as per this page:

    http://pages.ebay.com/help/paypa...

For me, this leads eventually to:

    http://payments.ebay.com/ws/eBay...

which has the text 'If you have a PayPal account, you can add your PayPal addresses to this page.'

    Afterwards, it has the text:

    PayPal address:
This address is linked from your PayPal account

It's more than just having the same address, it has to be explicitly linked.

Actually, it's kind of funny because I have had an eBay account (and a PayPal account) for a really long time, and the original linking process between PayPal and eBay was entirely automatic, so something's changed that broke that.

In another thread I've posted I was directed to this thread. This thread does not cover the issue that I had but I saw that I'm not the only one who had this error. It must be JBW since I had it snipe another auction from the same seller after I had this error and it sniper OK without me making any changes to my setting anywhere.

    • Milestone changed from 2.0 Full Release to Support

    Greetings,

This is not a bug, it is a support issue. In the majority of cases, you need to link your eBay and Paypal accounts as described above.

There are many things that sellers can set as 'requirements' on their listings, and they can set them on or off per-listing, so check the listings for the details.

The most common is the Paypal linked accounts issue above.
