Searches failing since about 5-Aug-2010

Reported by JohnW | August 8th, 2010 @ 08:14 PM

Had been running 2.1pre8 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 for almost a week doing four hourly "Text" searches. Then around Thursday the 5th or Friday the 6th the searches all stopped finding results. The status shows "No new results found..." and the Errors Log says "No items on page!".

I installed the Safari 5.0.1 update on Tuesday the 3rd.

From the back error logs, the problem appears to have started between 3PM and 4PM EDT on August 5th. There were no error messages in that same time period that appear to be relavent. Attaching the error log anyway.

Updated to 2.1.1. No change.
Tried “Repair Disk Permissions”. No change.
Tried a shutdown and re-start. No change.

    Hi John,
    You still have this problem?

Yes. I just checked and the symptom of all searches failing to get
new results is still present. Did a search for:

       iPod Touch 32GB 3rd

and got "No new results found...". Went to eBay and did the same
    search. Got 1,301 results.

    Another of the searches is:

"Apple iPod TOUCH iTouch 32GB 32 GB MP3 Video 3rd Gen"

That one has 23 hits on eBay and "No new results" on JBidwatcher.

The forum topic on the problem
(http://forum.jbidwatcher.com/forums/1/topics/2280) shows that Windows users are getting the same symptoms and a user who went back to
2.1pre5 on Linux still has it, too. One person thinks his problem
started the same day as mine so it appears may be a change in eBay
rather than a change on the client side. Perhaps a change in the
    formatting of the results page?

In any case, thanks for this program! Even after the searches failed
I was still able to manually insert the auctions and get a 32GB 3rd
    Generation iPod Touch for $188.50.

    Greetings,
I've got to poke at that; it's possible that the URL formats on search-results have changed, so JBidwatcher isn't recognizing them.
