Auction Listing not displaying.

Reported by wb04431 | February 10th, 2010 @ 11:26 AM | in 2.1 Release

Attached is a snapshot of the JBWatcher application. I have 15+ items listed on my watch list, and several I am bidding on. None show up in the display window.

However, if I click randomly, the item shows up in parts (the picture floats) and the line is highlighted blue and several columns display themselves. When I move the cursor, the line disappears again (still there, just not displaying).

I am on Mac OSX 10.4.11 PPC Powerbook G4.

Thanks,
WB

I see this too on 10.4.11 Intel. Pressing Apple+A makes all of the auctions show up (until I deselect them)

Also, I tried changing the background color to something other than white and they still didn't show up.

    Same here.

    10.4.11 PPC DP

They appear when highlighted, but vanish when deselected. Also changing font does not correct problem as well.

After pressing Apple-A, I too see the list - but can only click on the top item (of 13) - the others disappear when selected, so I can't review them OR snipe them!

I am running 10.4.11 on an Macbook Intel Core Duo.

With 243 open tickets, and 163 new tickets (not even assigned to be fixed), my guess is that this product is not being supported and will never be fixed.

    Greetings,

This problem is addressed in #998 and there's a version of JBidwatcher that OS X 10.4 users can download. It was fixed some time ago (January 7th), in fact. You can download the fix version here: http://www.jbidwatcher.com/download/JBidwatcher-2.1pre5-uitest.dmg

As for my support, see FAQ-1: http://www.jbidwatcher.com/help/faq#ans0 and it applies to tickets opened here as well.

Given that the total number of tickets is over a thousand, with only 243 open I'm definitely supporting it still. That said, closing tickets takes a ton of time, especially with bug reports that contain nothing more than, 'Something went wrong with my snipe! What happened?

If it takes me 3-5 minutes to respond to each ticket, that's about a thousand minutes just to get through all of them, or more than 16 hours of JUST churning through bugs. I wrote a web application that uses the Lighthouse API just to make processing tickets faster, and it still takes hours (of non-development!) to go through when I do triaging passes. That said, it's been a while since I did a triaging pass to ask for more info, or to see if the problem is still happening with a new release. (Or, if users aren't responding, to close bugs that they filed.)

I'm just one developer, doing this for essentially free in my spare time. I'd love some help triaging the bugs, if you feel that's something you're good at and can help out with. Occasionally some wonderful users step in, and encourage folks to improve their bug reports, give more details, and point out resources, and I appreciate it very, very deeply.

Best of luck with your auctions,

    -- Morgan Schweers, CyberFOX!
