This also contains a suggestion for retrieving your auctions from the still existing XML file.

Same thing happens to me. When my computer goes into standby it tries to kill all apps running. JBW gets killed in the process and in doing so wipes all my auctions in the "current" section.

It's happened twice now. Getting kinda annoying.

Its annoying but its still a beta.

Hopefully will be fixed to beta3 ;)

Working on it. My two major bug fixes for the beta3 that I haven't figured out yet are:

    1. Why do auctions vanish? Losing data is the 2nd worst sin of all and Must Be Fixed. (Spending money it's not been told to spend is the worst sin!)
    2. Why doesn't it start on some Mac OS X boxes?

I just hope I can find the fix for both of them before the baby comes... :-/

...and update. I think I may know why it's doing it.

The internal database was set to 'autocommit off'; setting it to 'autocommit on' seems to resolve the problem, locally. I'll have to try it on a broader scale.

Basically, the effect was that some things were getting committed (deletions of auction info as it's replaced for example), and others were not (updating of the auction info row id in the entries table), and so the database was getting out of synch.

I've checked that in as changeset [478]. Now if only I can figure out the OS X startup problem...

    Can we test it? :)

I lost again my auctions and cant be restored with the instructions above! But anyway, isn't something important!! Give us a beta3 :)

    Thank you

I've determined that it still loses track of some (a smaller amount) information if you force-quit the application (or kill it with the task manager under Windows, or kill -9 under Linux). It looks like the auction information, in those cases, is still in the database though, but sort of disconnected.

This should not happen under 2.0beta3 anymore.

Even under force quit/kill/end task, it should be mostly okay.

Thanks muchly for the reports and logs.
