internal webserver don´t activate snipe >2b6
Reported by regin | August 19th, 2008 @ 05:11 AM | in 2.0 Full Release
Hi Morgan,
just another bug @ internal webserver:
as of version 2b6 and on the snipe isn´t accepted via internal webserver! I enter a value, "Remote-controlled snipe activated on: " is displayed, even the java consoles shows "Remote-controlled snipe activated agains auctions xxx for xxx" but normal interface/gui and internal webserver displays no activated snipe! if i place the bid via normal gui it works!
Greetings and keep on fighting....

Greetings,
Argh... The internal webserver needs a major overhaul, but I have higher priority bugs to fix, unfortunately.
The frustrating thing is that if you do this, shut down, and restart JBidwatcher, you'd probably see that the snipe has been set.
The fix for this is the same as the fix for many issues; I need to be passing around auction identifiers instead of the actual auction entry objects. Currently I can't request a redraw of the auction entry (which would make it show up) because the entry loaded in the web server is a different instance than the one monitored by the UI.
That's a complex way of saying: this is a side-effect of a deeper design problem, and will be fixed when that deeper problem is fixed.
Sorry to be so abstruse on this one.

Hi,
"The frustrating thing is that if you do this, shut down, and restart JBidwatcher, you'd probably see that the snipe has been set."
Added via normal GUI you are right, after restart of jbid the snipe will be displayed via webserver, but added via internal webserver the snipe won´t be listed anywhere. Restart did not help here...
