This error in 2.0b3 results from attempts to add an auction:

Please upgrade to the Sun JDK, downloadable from here.
OpenJDK is not done yet, and shouldn't be shipping, but of course it is... :(
You can also try downloading the latest version of JBidwatcher from http://next.jbidwatcher.com where I'm staging the upcoming beta7 version.
