two users, one computer
Reported by TigerPilot | July 11th, 2008 @ 08:44 PM | in Support
I tried to search for this instance with no results so I'll ask it now.
I have two users on my computer. JBW will always open with the last user auctions. I don't know how to get the second user's auction. Also sometimes both user want to use JBW at the same time, but only one can. What do I have to do to have two users using one computer at the same time independently form each other? No, I'm not going to buy a second computer and that is final. :D

I access my computer remotely, and have set it up to simultaneously login with two independent users in separate remote desktop sessions, each with an instance of jbid running.
The same can be achieved locally, by enabling fast user switching in XP, this allows you to have two separate users simultaneously running jbid.
Hope that helps!

While it is not the most elegant solution, it is probably to easiest and yes, it works.

Greetings,
Well, under Linux you can do it like this:

Under Windows, there's a solution for USB drives:

It should work for multiple users on Windows also, but I haven't tried it offhand.
Still, the fast user switching approach is pretty straightforward, and has the advantage of being operating system supported. :)
